Private
Chauncy H. Peck was born Nov. 11, 1840 in East Bloomfield, New York,
the 13th child of Samuel Peck and Harriet Brocket Peck. Samuel died
in New York in 1848. In 1850, Harriet and six sons emigrated to Greenville,
Michigan.
Chauncy
enlisted in Company F, 21st Michigan Volunteer Infantry on July 28,
1862. Several important Peck Civil War documents are available here.
Shortly
after Chauncy's death in Nashville, his older brother Philander
was drafted. This page contains sworn statements and copies of
